Maine

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster. On Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 a mass shooting took place in Lewiston, Maine.

While this did not take anyone from me personally, it shattered my world view. I’m aware that mass shootings happen in the US (its a serious problem here), but never did it seem like it would happen in Maine. We are such a small community that is so tight knit.

I never lived in Lewiston, but i’ve always been about 30minutes away. Here in Maine, that’s extremely close. My doctor and dentist are both in Lewiston, I’ve worked there, many friends live there, I’ve spent many nights having fun in Lewiston. It is hard to wrap my head around this.

We were supposed to be doing the Burgundar Faire this weekend, but they have postponed till next weekend. I’m grateful, because it gives everyone more time to process this all.

I plan to make some earrings similar to my bunny ones, but of the state of Maine. I love my state, and i’m very proud to be a Mainer. This is not something that should happen.
